I successfully completed a rather large order last week, 99 afternoon tea hampers delivered across Devon I am really pleased how smoothly it all went and i’d love to tell you abit about it.
5 weeks ago Beth Lewis at Simpkins Edwards Accountants (www.simpkinsedwards.co.uk) contacted me with an alternative idea for their summer social this year, they usually have a large event organised for all their staff across the Devon Offices to attend but due to Covid-19 this wasn’t possible.
After getting further information from Beth they were looking at around 100 afternoon tea hampers to be delivered to different addresses across different parts of Devon and some further afield.
I spoke with Liam (Husband) about it and we worked out that we could split the hampers between Courier and deliveries that could go with our drivers already on the roads for our sister company Isca foods.
I received the final list of names, addresses, dietary requirements and delivery instructions and started to work out a plan for the week of deliveries, we would deliver all of the hampers between Monday – Friday. I worked out from the addresses which hampers would be delivered with our van drivers and which would go via courier delivery.
The final numbers were 99 so the next task was to make up 99 boxes we added the dry goods which consisted of the burts crisps, Devonshire tea and the Waterhouse fayre strawberry jam, we put business cards in all the boxes and a leaflet which has information on our buffet food aswell as the hampers.
I then did all of the delivery notes for the boxes and for our drivers, and booked the courier collections online.
I made a spreadsheet and colour coded each delivery day, and then got to the task in hand and completed 99 afternoon tea hampers which apart from the Gluten free, Vegan and Egg allergy they all included the below items:-

I did bespoke hampers for those with dietary requirements including 1 x Gluten free, 1 x vegan and 1 x egg allergy (photos below).
All deliveries went smoothly and were successfully delivered apart from one which was delivered via courier, the driver had ran out of time on the day of delivery, once we realised it hadn’t reached the customer on the intended day we resent the chilled goods again for the Customer and got it rectified as quickly as we could. With just this one delivery problem out of 99 i am quite pleased with that result.
