Abbi & Matt wedding

Abbi & Matt finally got their happily ever after May 2021

So 8 months later and 2 postponed wedding dates, Abbi and Matt finally got married!

Abbi first got in contact with me to cater for her wedding in February 2020 from a recommendation on facebook, their original date to get married was in September 2020 and from talking to her in the February who would have thought that a wedding 6 months later wouldn’t be able to go ahead.

With the September 2020 date out of the window, they then postponed to the end of March 2021 (surely Covid-19 wouldn’t still be affecting everything then?!) how wrong we were! With restrictions in place again and the next date for easing was in April they changed the date again to Saturday 8th May 2021 and what a day it was, it was wet and windy but that did not dampen their day.

The wedding was at the beautiful Froginwell Vineyard sadly the weather wasn’t on our side it was a very wet and windy day but Abbi, Matt and their guests including their little girl did not let the weather dampen their day!
As my first wedding buffet it was a real pleasure to work with Kate and Dani at Froginwell and photographer Kyle Baker, i can already feel it is a really rewarding and fun industry to be in and I am so looking forward to the many more weddings, christenings and other occasions we have got booked in this year.

There were 15 guests and food was served onto 4 seperate tables, their buffet food included Quiche lorraine, cocktail sausage rolls, farmhouse cheddar, sharpham brie, selection of vegan salads, sliced devon ham, cocktail samosa’s and onion bhaji’s, bread and butter and then their choice for a little something sweet for after the meal was plain and chocolate orange flapjack handmade by Kate’s Kake’s who I am very lucky to have do all of the sweet baking for me her cakes really are to die for.

I used beautiful Edible flowers from Maddock’s Farm which she had handpicked fresh the day before the wedding and kindly picked out some of the colour’s in Abbi’s wedding colour theme for me they were simply stunning!
The edible flowers added so much to the buffet food and for the photos, the guests enjoyed tasting the flowers too and they definitely add abit of theatre to dinner!

5 things I will take away from my first wedding buffet:-

1. Be more careful with brand new very sharp knifes!
2. You can never have enough tea towels
3. You can prep more food earlier than you think
4. Purchase catering trays for serving and clearing away
5. I absolutely loved it, from the planning to the end result and I can’t wait to do many more weddings and occasions

If you are looking for friendly service, high quality buffet food at really competitive prices then please get in touch I would love to work with you no occasion to big or too small.
