We are getting stuck into doing buffets now, May and June we had 2 weddings and a joint 60th birthday party. Abbi and Matt’s wedding at Froginwell Vineyard which was my second buffet having only done a Christening in January last year just before Covid came along, feels so long ago now! Lisa and Jason’s wedding which was a relaxed garden wedding and they had the most amazing weather.
The joint 60th party was my friends parents who I have known for many years now, this was another relaxed party at their home and it was lovely to be apart of, hearing laughing, chatting, music all in one place should be just normal life but it felt like such a novelty to hear!
August is absolutely mental with a combination of weddings, christenings and parties which I am very grateful for and we are already in full swing.
We have just catered for a beautiful wedding at Powderham Castle, a rustic marquee wedding situated next to Belvedere Tower. Unfortunately I was unable to be at this wedding due to Covid in our household, which I was really sad about I used to work with Tracey (the Bride) and was so honoured when she contacted me to cater for her special day but the Orchardlea Team did a fantastic job and it was a very happy wedding party.
Tracey and Dan were after our Ploughman’s package served to their guests followed by the Devon Cream Tea, Tracey handmade the wooden boards which the ploughmans were served on.
To accompany the ploughman boards there was a rainbow salad, coleslaw, potato salad, crisps and sourdough from The Boatyard Bakery.
I have got some very special friends and family who really helped save the day and did an amazing job catering, the wedding party were so happy and it all went smoothly so another successful special occasion ticked off.
It is so amazing and such a buzz finally being able to do what I have planned for nearly 2 years now! So many special gatherings and events being able to now take place and it really is a lovely sight to see and hear!
We have got a 30th party and 2 Christenings left to do in August and then our largest wedding so far with 130 guests on the 4th September – wish us luck!
